Want to check the weather during your cruise? Accurate predictions are only available a few days in advance. We have created a guide that explains your experience in an easy and understandable way.
“Resalto” is a traditional boat of “varkala” type. Since 1994, the EU in its effort to mitigate the overfishing of the Mediterranean, has enacted a law to destroy traditional fishing vessels. Since then, thousands of boats have been ignominiously cut down. The shipbuilding peculiarity with which they have been built has been shaped through centuries of observation and evolution in modern wooden shipbuilding. Very few shipwrights are now alive and know how to build such a hull, making this a dying science. Using the boats for recreation is a wonderful way to preserve their memory. “Resalto” is therefore a floating museum.
See its beautifully curved lines and feel its light bounce on the waves. This feeling is not accidental, it managed to develop after centuries of harmonizing with the Aegean environment.
Our story
The love for the sea led Dimitris to follow the naval profession and to be the holder of a 2nd Class Master’s Diploma in the Merchant Navy. He has many years of experience as a Chief Petty Officer and Officer of the Watch on ocean-going LPG vessels specializing in marine communications, ship planning and maintenance of safety equipment.
At the same time, as a holder of a sailing diploma, he practices his hobby in the East Attica area with his personal boat. His experience and countless hours of continuing education on various nautical topics, his certification as a lifeguard and his passion for the sea make him the most suitable to offer an enjoyable and above all safe cruise!
We start from the port of Porto Rafti and cruise in Eastern Attica towards Artemida across the coastline. We make 4 half-hour stops for swimming and diving from the boat: at Tourkolimano, the islet of Agios Alexandros, Tortuga beach and a sea cave near Erotospilia (Love Cave). During the cruise, we pass by other points of interest as well such as the Colossus of Raftis, the Blue Lagoon (Aspronisia) and Hamolia. You can see our destinations in detail, photos and videos here.
We cruise daily Monday through Sunday weather permitting. You can see the detailed program in the "Cruises" tab. The itinerary will change from September 15 due to a change in sunset time.
For a full day cruise of 6+ hours the boat must be booked privately.
You can see at any time how many seats are available on each cruise through our booking system.
It depends on the cruise you choose.
For example, the Mediterranean BBQ Cruise includes a full meal with skewers, salad, pita bread, wine, beers, etc.
At East Attica Hidden Gems we welcome you with coffee (filter) and dips, then fresh pastries from the oven and finally fruit. We also provide you with beers, wine and refreshments.
You can see what is included in each cruise when you enter the reservation system of the cruise you are interested in.
Finally, you can bring anything else you want with you to eat or drink.
From the port of Porto Rafti. You can find our exact location here
Yes, there are two large awnings that provide shade over much of the boat. At the same time, there are places under the sun for those who want to sunbathe.
We recommend booking at least 1-2 days in advance to guarantee your place. Also, this helps us to know the occupancy and prepare accordingly. If you are interested in booking during the weekend we suggest you book at least 3-5 days in advance as these days are more in demand.
Yes, of course! We have welcomed children aged 3 and 3.5 years old who could participate normally in the cruise program and swim. Young children must wear a life jacket which is provided by us but we welcome you to bring your own equipment as well.
During all 4 swim stops we drop anchor in the sea close to land. You can enter the sea either from our vertical ladder or by diving directly from the boat. The locations where we drop anchor are at least 2 meters deep.
Of course! We have designed our own ramp (walkway) specifically to allow wheelchairs to pass through. The width is 60 cm and on our boat we have a wheelchair which is suitable for it. However, our bathroom is still not accessible which is something we intend to improve in our future renovations.
Our boat has a maximum capacity of 35 people (33 passengers and 2 staff).
Weather is hard to predict if you have booked a cruise 5+ days in advance. As we get closer to the date, the forecasts become more accurate and we get a better picture of the sea state and the possibility of a cruise cancellation. We always wish for good seas but in case of a cruise cancellation we get in touch with you at least a day in advance, if not sooner. You can check the current weather forecast here
This year we have automated the process so that you can directly see the availability and book your private cruise online through our booking system.
